I’ve been married for almost 20 years, and mother to 3 kids, 2 girls – 14 & 13 and 1 boy – 8. Currently I work full-time as an elementary school secretary and build my business on the weeknights and weekends.

Tell us a little bit about your family and your Boss Mom journey.

I have 3 children – 14, 13, 8, and have been married to my husband for almost 20 years. My Boss Mom journey started out when I created a blog over 6 years ago. I wanted to share my own journey through depression and anxiety, in an attempt to help others who were going similar experiences. Once others started asking me more and more about how I won this battle, I decided to pursue my dream, which was to actively help others the same way I was helped. That’s when I decided to become a life coach, specifically working with women to help them create a strategy for living with depression and anxiety in a healthy way.

What are some of your favorite go to meals when time is tight and dinner MUST get on the table?

Tacos
Breakfast – pancakes, sausage, eggs
Spaghetti
BLT’s
And we always have cold cereal on hand, honestly that’s our families favorite dinner. 🙂

What are three core values of your business and how do those values relate to your motherhood?

  • Service – I can only have a business if I serve others, and the importance of serving others is a value we are teaching our children.
  • Work Ethic – It’s about doing your best, not simply completing a task. We tell our kids often we only expect them to do their best.
  • Love – Relationships over tasks. This is NOT my nature, so I’m learning this right along with my family. Nothing matters, no one will listen to you if you don’t truly, genuinely care about them.

What are you currently reading or listening to (podcasts, books, blogs etc)?

Sacred Ground, Sticky Floors – blog
Lori Schumaker – blog
Total Forgiveness by RT Kendall
The Land Between by Jeff Manion
The Book of Job

What is one piece of business advice that you’d give to a mom just starting out?

Don’t try to do everything at once. Focus on the basics first. Your purpose, passion, your audience. Knowing and believing in the “big picture” will lead you to all the details that need to be accomplished.

In one word, sum up your life as a Boss Mom.

Crazy 🙂
