Have you noticed the nagging sense of burnout amongst business owners around social media? It’s not just you. There’s a powerful shift happening, and it’s time we talk about it.

Especially us moms… we have to demand change!

The days of churning out endless content are fading, and the spotlight is now on building genuine relationships and networking.

Thank goodness, we moms prefer real relationships over dancing on social media anyway.

The Saturation of Social Media Content

We live in a world where our feeds are overflowing with content. Everywhere you look, there’s a new post, video, or story vying for attention. And most of us feel like it’s all about being flashy and capturing your attention at any cost.

For us moms, it feels like we have to sacrifice our integrity to get any visibility or traffic.

The result?

It’s becoming harder and harder for any single piece of content to make a real impact.

And we know as moms, making content is hard enough.

Studies show that engagement rates are dropping as audiences become overwhelmed by the sheer volume of information.

It’s like shouting in a room full of crying babies  – your voice gets lost in the noise.

The Rise of Authenticity and Trust

Here’s the good news: people are craving real connection.

They want to connect with real humans, not just faceless brands.

Constant content can often feel impersonal and forced, whereas genuine interactions build trust and loyalty.

Think about it – when was the last time you felt truly connected to someone through a perfectly polished post?

It’s the behind-the-scenes moments, the honest stories, and the heartfelt conversations that stick with us.

The Power of Building Relationships

Building relationships isn’t just a feel-good strategy; it’s a smart business move.

When you take the time to genuinely connect with your audience, you create a loyal community.

These relationships foster long-term loyalty and can turn followers into advocates. Personalized communication, active listening, and meaningful engagement are key. It’s about showing up not just as a brand, but as a person who cares.

Networking as a Key Business Strategy

Building a strong network is crucial for personal and professional growth.

Networking opens doors to collaborations, partnerships, and opportunities that constant posting simply can’t.

Whether it’s online or offline, networking is about creating connections that matter. Attend events, join groups, and reach out directly to those you admire.

Your network is your net worth, and it’s time to invest in it.

The Role of Quality Over Quantity

Quality trumps quantity, every time. Shifting your content strategy to focus on creating high-quality, impactful posts can lead to deeper engagement and more meaningful conversations.

Think about content that provides real value – long-form articles, in-depth videos, and comprehensive guides.

These are the pieces that resonate, that get shared, and that build your reputation as an authority in your field.

What community should you join?

Facebook is the most common place where people will join free communities. Yet we are finding more and more that those are being saturated with bots and are often not well-managed.

You can still find local communities and some niche topic centered communities on Facebook that can add a lot of value, but more and more we’re seeing a shift to privately managed spaces off of Facebook.

We’ve found that creating our own dedicated community, space, or platform and app specifically for moms that is low cost, but highly curated has been the best way to give busy boss moms a space to network and grow their businesses while not wasting your time.

That’s why we created BossMom+. We used to have a 75,000 person Facebook group that we shut down.

8 reasons I closed a Facebook Group of 75k members

1️⃣When you do something really well and for free, people often take it for granted

2️⃣I wanted community, I just didn’t want a Facebook group

3️⃣I knew I had to go ALL in on my dream and stop playing small and so I did, and I decided in one day

4️⃣It’s scary to break something down and make a big change but it’s scarier to NEVER make moves that inspire change

5️⃣My imagination and creativity were stifled by the current model of my business. I got to run wild once I decided

6️⃣Social media has made it really hard to grow your business, especially if you’re a mom with multiple priorities. I knew I could create something better for moms with businesses.

7️⃣If it takes a village, we’re going to build a city in BossMom+

8️⃣BossMom+ is truly unique in how it operates as a community and mini economy.
