When we’re caught up in the hustle and bustle of running our businesses, it’s easy to lose sight of the impact we’re making on our clients. However, sometimes even the smallest service we provide can make all the difference in someone else’s life.

As business owners, we have the potential to transform our clients’ lives, from how they get things done, to how they feel about themselves. Wouldn’t it be great to tap into that power and use it for good?

How can we channel our energies into creating something that truly makes a difference in our clients’ lives, so they can shine a little brighter in their own world and pay it forward?

In this episode, Co-CEO and Master Cosmetologist at Transformations Beauty Studio, Derricka Traylor shares how she’s built a hair salon that goes beyond offering a service.

“If we could make all women feel more confident in themselves, the world would be a happier, more peaceful place.”

-Dana Malstaff

Three Things You’ll Learn in This Episode

  • How to use our businesses to create safe spaces for women
Creating an environment where women can share their stories, catch up with friends and truly unwind does more good than we sometimes realize. Make a point of building genuine relationships with clients so they feel comfortable in the space.
  • The key to connecting with clients on a deeper level
It’s one thing to listen to clients when they’re talking, it’s another to remember small details and check in with them a couple weeks down the line. Get invested in their lives and show them their stories are worthy of attention and love.
  • How to unwind in times of trauma
We all go through difficult periods, and the key to surviving them lies in relaxing activities. This could be reading, catching up with a friend, or even going to the salon, but the most important thing is to find what works for us.
