Share a bit about your Boss Mom journey:

I’ve always been an entrepreneur and can remember my journey beginning as soon as I could read. I’d pick up books from the library about how kids could start making money and how to invest money so it works for you. All throughout my life, I ran some form of business from lemonade stands, selling rocks I painted, to a pet sitting business. I’m pretty sure entrepreneurship runs in my veins! But the real shift happened after the birth of my son 11 years ago. I was a science junkie and read everything I could on pregnancy and birth. I had an amazing birth experience. But was shattered in postpartum! My body felt broken. I had developed severe postpartum depression and anxiety. And I didn’t understand why this was happening to not only me, but to so many women that I spoke to. It didn’t make sense to me why this was a “normal” thing. After really diving in and looking at what was going on within the postpartum body and how these physiological changes weren’t being discussed or supported, I knew my mission in life was to begin here. To educate women, to support them during this profound life experience.

What makes you excited about becoming a Boss Mom of the Week?

What an honor! To be nominated is a recognition that my message and story resonates within the hearts of women.

One piece of advice for moms who are starting a business

I learned very early on that for me, doing both parenting and business at the same time is impossible. Having childcare allowed me schedule time where I can give my business and clients 100% of me. And simultaneously, when it was time to be with my family, I could give 100% of my time to them. Recognizing that I wasn’t the person who could simultaneously be mom and business owner at the same time was revolutionary for me. And as the creator of my life, I got to make some changes that worked for me better. I highly recommend looking at areas of your life that aren’t working and being okay with that as you make some shifts that simply feel better for you.

Where do you go for inspiration?

My inspiration comes from books, and the amazing relationships I’ve created professionally. There are so much information in the world and I love soaking up everything I can, from industry specific books, self care and growth, to fantasy lands with dragons and queens! Plus my colleagues and the amazing things they are doing in the world, to my clients and their struggles and successes… they are all such inspirations for what is possible in the world.

What are you currently reading or listening to (podcasts, books, blogs etc)?

Right now, I’m reading both The Sophia Code by Raia Ka and A Mind of Your Own by Dr. Kelly Brogan. They are fascinating reads! I have just discovered The Life School Podcast by Brooke Castillo as well so I’ve been soaking up her wisdom for the last few weeks.

I want to live in a world where…

Women value, honor, and love themselves as much as we do for others. Many women will give so much to everyone else while completely disregarding their own innate wisdom and needs. If women truly understood the role of their life and the impact it has on their partner, their children, their communities… women would glow in this consciously connected place of radiance. And our families, communities, and world would step in to support that. But it first has to come from within us.

This is what I know to be true…

The possibilities for life are endless and abundant beyond comprehension.

One thing you can’t live without…

My planner. I’m obsessed with it! It’s the Virgo in me who loves lists, goals, and organization. And what better way than with your favorite planner full of stickers and, well, organization?!

What is the big milestone that you are hitting that you are celebrating?

I just celebrated directly supporting 5000 mamas on their postpartum journey through the years postpartum. The impact on these mothers, their children, families, and communities… I have such sweet appreciation, love, and gratitude for the honor in doing this work with gorgeous souls!
