Share a bit about your Boss Mom journey:
It’s amazing how great I felt helping others fulfill their goal in corporate America. If an organization that I worked for needed to meet a monthly quota I had a big part in helping the organization do just that. It wasn’t until I had a partnering organization approach my CEO asking if I can come work for them because of a new opportunity that opened up. I began to realize if people were willing to pay me for my expertise that I brought to their table, why not pay myself and create my own table. From there, my business was birthed, my book was written, now a best seller and I never looked back to corporate America.
What makes you excited about becoming a Boss Mom of the Week?
I’m excited to become a boss mom of the week because I know I can be an example of what’s possible. As a mother of six and a wife for 25 years, you can only imagine there’s a lot of things in life that can stop you from pursuing your dreams. I am a mother who pursued her dream parallel to parenting.
One piece of advice for moms who are starting a business
My first advice would be to encourage moms to understand it is possible to operate in your passion along with parenting without sacrificing one for the other. If your children are young and require more of your time then use that time to learn about and develop your business until your children get to an age where you have time freedom to execute in your business. There is no wasted time. At any moment you’re either learning or growing.
Where do you go for inspiration?
The bible and my 3 mentors!
What are you currently reading or listening to (podcasts, books, blogs etc)?
I’m reading Start With Why by Simon Sinek
This is what I know to be true…
You already have what it takes within you to be successful. You don’t have to find your purpose, you discover it.
One thing you can’t live without…
Coffee
